I am currently in the CDT department working in the shopper team. Every day is different, one day I could be doing store visits and research and the next day I could be getting artwork done for different retailers.
Yes, I have developed my skills on Excel as I am continuously using different spreadsheets. I have also strengthened my communication skills, developed my relationship building and team working skills.
I am really enjoying my programme so far as it is a great way to gain valuable work life experience while also studying for a degree. It has been very eye opening as I am able to see how a huge organisation is able to adapt to different situations and how they operate from day to day.
The programme is very well organised with a clear structure which is easy to follow. It gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of different areas and gain experience from each. My university structure is also well organised as we have regular calls and we know what is expected from us.
I have found the support to be great throughout my apprenticeship. There is a variety of people you can go to within your team, location and the academy that will help with any questions you have.
There is always support from my university whenever it is needed. They are very prompt with emails and will always reply that day or the next to any questions we have. They always provide us with resources and recordings that are accessible throughout the whole degree so we can go back to previous module content if needed.
My university work is very relevant to my day to day work life. Assignments are contextualised and we are able to bring in work life examples. We learn theories which are relevant and ones we can use in our careers with Nestle.
Yes, we have 2 volunteering days a year which we can take to help our local communities or a charity of our choice. I have also attended some professional events where I was able to network with different people within the business and people external to the business which I really enjoyed.
Yes
Nestle has provided me with valuable experience and knowledge for the first 7 months of my working life. This has allowed me to build my confidence and knowledge in different areas of the business and it is something that will stay with me throughout my working life. The experience I have had so far is what I expected when I applied for this apprenticeship.
Be yourself. At Nestle, they want individuals to be able to express themselves and their interests/ passions. If you are going through the interview process, make sure you have a grounding idea of what nestle believes in, what they are passionate about and what they are currently working on as this will help .
