My working day varies for which rotation I am in. My current role is to make drawing changes on CAD and on paper to current parts and asssemblies that are being either produced in house or produced for us elsewhere.
I have learnt how to use CAD effectively. I have developed in my competency in problem solving and investigating into problems that have been flagged, then determining what action to take to amendit.
The working environment is very enjoyable, all the people are friendly and happy to help out with any and all questions that I have. I especially enjoy it as I am one of a small number of degree apprentices so we have a close-knit community.
The program is structured now but it has taken some work on our behalfs to get it here. We have decided on appropriate rotation patterns and done lots of the work for the coming EDAs.
My mananger is very understanding of any exam days or project weeks that need to be taken off of work for the degree side of my apprenticeship, they understand that the learning is as imporant as the job that I do so accomodate for that.
The training provider provides us with a lecture and then has material for us to practice this knowledge on. If we have problems then we can ask and will most of the time receive a helpful explanation but it depends which lecturer it is.
I find that it means that I understand what our company does and the finer details in all the calculations a lot better.
We run the student network in our company which arranges our own social activities exclusively for students and placement students. The company also provides social activities such as bowling and rounders periodically.

It is a good place to work and the working environment is very enjoyable. The work is hard enough but not impossible which gives you a good sense of acheivement when it is done well.
As with any job make sure to know about what the company does and a basic knowledge of its history, also make sure to try to keep organised in work and in your learning as pretyy quickly it can all get muddled.
