My role involves me either checking in customers and tagging bags and answering all questions when I’m in landside. Airside my role is to either board customers at the gate or host in the lounges or connections. My role airside can also involve me sitting on the customer service desks answering customer queries.
Yes I have learnt how to deal with different types of people which has helped with my communication skills which will benefit me in the future. My confidence has gotten a lot better by the day and I feel pretty confident when dealing with problems such as rebooking or dealing with unhappy customers.
I enjoy it very much I have met a lot of people from many different backgrounds and I can say that I learn something new from everyone I meet both customers and colleagues. This programme has also taught me how things work like for example why certain flights get cancelled.
My programme is very well structured, we get checked on often to see how we are doing and to see if we are on the right track. We get monthly workshops where we learn different things about the industry that we work in and how we can help to make it better.
I receive a good amount of support. I can email my personal development manager and ask her any question I have whether that’s to do with my apprenticeship or to do with the work at the terminal. Questions get answered on the day which helps a lot which many companies don’t do
