During my Day to Day I am required to validate payments for suppliers. I also contact suppliers regarding payment time frames and other queries they may have but this can be a lot of things on the spectrum of AP related. I also go in case by case basis to ensure amounts are correct before payment.
I have learned the new systems at work and the uses of having these in place as they make it so much easier to work daily with a prominent software. I have also been able to develop my team working and communication skills with weekly meetings. I have also improved my problem solving skills as anything can come up day to day.
I enjoy my programme a lot I am working in a great work environment which mad it so easy to settle in. And because of this I was able to get straight into training and I have been able to go into different areas earlier than I should have which has gave a fun challenge to the role.
The structure of the programme is well organised as we knew going into it the department we would be starting with as well as the time frame of 9 months before we move to another department in the business to broaden our skills. This means that we won't be stuck doing the same tasks daily there will always be something else foe us to learn.
I get support on a daily basis by my manager who is always there to help me with everything that can come up on my day. I have also had support in regards to my studies that I am partaking in to help ensure that I am getting the best possible grades.
Kaplan have been great in terms of support we have our 6 week sessions with a member of staff to see how we are getting on with our apprenticeship and ways we can improve and they will be there to offer any additional help that we could need with tasks.
I have been able to bring elements of my training into my role at work as parts of my daily work have came up in training so by making the connections it has made it a bit easier to get some tasks done as well as understanding the studying easier by having time spent doing it.
We have had some networking events that we have had that have helped us meet people from around the business from other parts of the country and take a look further into other departments to see how important the work they do is in line with what I am doing.
Yes
Balfour Beatty has been the perfect workplace for me. The work life balance is fluid and there is constantly more work that we can be trained in to make sure we don't get bored of the same tasks everyday. We also have lots of out of work activities which keep the staff engaged and help make the office life more fun
Take every day in your stride and don't be scared to ask others for help. everyone is there for the business and are happy to help i anyway they can as if your doing well then the whole team will be doing better. Try your best everyday and others will notice the effort that is being put in.
