I’m a housekeeper and that involves stripping, cleaning, and making rooms ready for our next guests. Sometimes, this involves cleaning public areas, linen rooms and cleaning staff rooms and bathrooms, sometimes we take rubbish out for collection and move some linen to the correct floors.
Yes, so before starting I was mediocre, now I’m fully trained and experienced as a professional cleaner. This has helped me find new career opportunities and grow my everyday skills. My customer communication skills have grown massively, I’ve done management training and I’ve done experience housekeeping training.
I enjoy it a lot. It’s fun to exercise my brain with different skills and opportunities.
It’s very organised. My tutor knows what days I can and cannot study and is very understanding.
They help as much as they can and are trying their best.
She helps me a lot. She’s honestly the best. She always asks to make sure I’m ready and prepared and if I’m not she sets me up with lessons and helps around my anxiety which I’m very thankful for.
It helps a lot with things like linen count.

Honestly, it’s a hard job and sometimes you can feel over worked and a little burnt out.
Have fun and try not to stress. It’s a good opportunity and if management do their jobs correctly it should be a smooth ride.
