On a day-to-day basis, I make sure that we have a three week look ahead in our new digital system, also making sure that data has been inputted for the tasks which have been completed that day so the system is as up to date as possible. Also making sure that graphs are up to date.
Over the last 12 months, I have learnt a lot of new skills and this has helped me develop existing skills. My communication skills have developed, so have my IT skills and my knowledge on the industry has also improved and this helps me improve the planning which I carry out.
I have really enjoyed learning new skills and learning how jobs are constructed and how much time and effort it takes to carry out takes. I have also enjoyed meeting new people and expanding for work networks. Also, I have enjoyed learning about lean and the progress behind improvement projects.
My programme is well structured. Every Thursday, they put aside a day so then I can spend the time either attending lectures or completing coursework. Also, there is a lot of support within my team when I need it to carry out my coursework, either by sitting down with me or taking me out to site.
I receive support within my team when I need it to carry out my coursework. Also I am able to shadow certain roles and there is also someone to talk to if I am struggling with my work.
I have had bi-weekly lectures with my training provider and support was there the other week if I was struggling with the coursework which was set. Now the majority of the course lecture is done.
Yes, I think the training provided by the training provider has given me new ways of thinking. Making me think more lean and what could make the process easier and more effective.
Yes, over the last couple of months, I have helped out on some social value activities like school talks, prison talks. This has helped me boost my confidence and develop the way in which I communicate with people to make sure that it is the most effective.
Yes
Balfour Beatty is a great place to work, you can develop and learn new skills but also create a great working network. Over the last couple of years which I have worked for the company, I developed a good knowledge of construction.
