  • Caring and teaching babies and toddlers in a child lead environment. Helping with daily care nappies and feeding teaching them all skills they need to become amazing people with individual skills using child led and adult led activities. Inside and out areas to overcome their own challenges with fun opportunities

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Health and safety food hygiene risk assessment manual handling are all good skills to learn along with first aid policies and procedures legislation how to tell if a child needs additional help how to talk to parents teaching children to make their own choices and take their own risks carefully without harm

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It's a great program and I enjoy learning all the new things to help teach the children some of the program is a bit repetitive but most of it is different throughout some of the things I've learnt are common sense others are all new and very important to know

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised I think it could be done slightly quicker but as it is for a big range of people it's not overly slow the tutors are very knowledgeable and very helpful easy to contact if needed. Don't in a good progression of the details needed to learn

  • My employer is very supportive and extremely helpful gives me time to complete my coursework has brought books for me that I need to complete the course always willing to check though my answers give me advise on how to answer it or tell me where I can find the information I need

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provided is helpful gives us a face to face meeting once a month with email contact whenever need tell use how to find all the information we need to learn. What the process is for taking and passing the course. Give good feedback on the work I hand in

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Give me the information I need to be confident at the job I'm performing and the knowledge to do it safely and to follow the legislation and guidelines needed to keep the children safe from harm and help them have the best start to their education and their adult life

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not really my boss pays for our gym membership and we have staff party's at Christmas and any staffs big birthdays. We do try to do charity events to raise money as ateam and a few of us all go to roller discos together but that isn't organised by the company just by my manager

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Dottie tots is a great environment the children always cone above anything they have access to the garden at all times the food served is healthy and made fresh onside. Working there we all work as a team it's like we are all 1 big family looking after a lot of children


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dottie Tots Nursery School?
  • Be happy honest child led enjoy working and spending time looking after the children be open to learning all the things you need to know. Be prepared to get messy and to make a mess you need to have lots of energy to keep up with the children they are always on the go
