My role within rolls royce currently, I am working in metrology this is where i use a CMM machine to measure and probe out different measurements across the car or parts. I would start of by getting the car or part aligned. Then i would start the measurement and then review it after
I have learnt a lot of new skills, some or which are team building, leadership. For example i have had to work in a team in all the placement. I have also developed current skills such as problem-solving especially in this current placement where if something goes wrong then we need to find out why.
I do enjoy the programme very much, There are always daily tasks to be done. And when you're finished with all of your work then there is always projects which can be done for all across of the plant. So there is a diverse jobs to be done everyday.
Overall i would say the programme is very well structured and very organised as there hasn't been a day of work which i have nothing to do. You're also give a lot of different responsibilities which need to be done everyday. And the meetings for these responsibilities it is very organised.
Overall i receive a lot of support for employers, for example if there is anything which i am every confused about which can be during work or at college what ever it is there is also someone there who i am able to talk to and they are always very helpful
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. For example if i ever have a problem with anything at college which could be about the lessons or the work, or maybe any days which i would need to take off. They are very helpful and understanding
I feel like the qualification through my training provider doesn't particular help with me perform better in my role. This is because the work which i am currently doing at college doesn't relate with anything that i do at work however it does help me improve my current skills such as problem solving.
There are a lot of different extra activities to get involved in at work for example there are lots of social activities where all the apprentices get together. There are also some sports team which occur everyday Tuesday and Friday which is football. Where i also do attend some days.
Yes
The reason why i would recommend rolls-royce motors to a friend because it is a great programme. The reasons for this is because it is very organised and structure, there are very good benefits from joining and most importantly there is so much progression as long as you put the work in.
The tips i would give to others applying to rolls Royce are try as hard as you can to get 5 GCSE however if you are able to learn any German then that would also help a lot as sometimes you get the chance to work abroad in different plants.
