  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • During my day to day role, I will complete numerous different activities. This can include anything from checking in customers to boarding fights to working in connections helping customers transiting onto connecting flights.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • In the last year I have learnt so many new skills. I am much more confident with my work, as well as knowing all the systems and procedures at BA as well as Iberia. I have developed my communication skills as well as improving my team working skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship and have done since the start. It is hard work and at times can be stressful and working in a fast paced environment like the aviation industry can be challenging but I thoroughly enjoy it on a day to day basis.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well. We have set work to do on a monthly basis and are given designated days each month to complete our apprenticeship work. We also have regular workshop days where we discuss different topics.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is there when we need it. We know who to go to and when to go to them. I have my line manager, as well as my business manager to help me if I ever need it. I also get support from my apprenticeship tutor on a monthly basis.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider supports us each month. We have monthly reviews to look at our progress and see what we are doing well and what we might need some support with.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Knowing that I am gaining a qualification out of my role is very rewarding. I am able to complete my day to day role/ job as well as learning on the side which helps me when I am thinking about my future career.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are always events and activities going on at BA where we have the change to support and engage with other areas of the business. This can include large career events at stadiums as well as hosting smaller events in our headquarters. There is always something that we can get involved with.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my job and my role. For me, BA is a company that I've always wanted to work for. It has opened up so many new opportunities for me and I’ve been able to experience so many new things that I wouldn’t be able to do if it wasn’t for BA.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • Always be yourself. When recruiting BA want you to be who you are, your unique self.
