  • Stock handling. Interacting with customers and selling to them. Managing a team to deliver good shop standards and trading legally.

  • Developed my communication skills and I have a greater understanding of retail and how to excel in the field.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Was neglected for a long time passed from trainer to trainer and so had very little understanding of the program. It wasn't until he came a long I had confidence in the programme and was supported to get onto the end point assessments.

  • It's well structured I just had no guidance and wasn't shown how to use anything.

  • The employer gave me time to complete of the job training and always look to develop their staff.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • No support at all really for nearly 2 years. But he came along and got me ready to take my end point assessment in just 2 months. Shows right trainer with right mindset you can achieve anything.

  • Gave me knowledge of best practice when communicating and gave me more confidence regarding the legal side of things.

  • We do lots of social events it's like a family.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A lovely tight knit team great for confidence building and development if you want to go into management.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland?
  • Be open to learning new skills and taking on more responsibilities. The more diverse you become the greater value to the company and the more rewarding your job becomes.
