I work within the HRBP and Data & Systems team, helping with daily/weekly tasks, and providing support to stakeholders on larger projects (Christmas, Coronation, etc). I also work with the BPs on colleague engagement and wellbeing.
Yes - I've massively developed my skills in conversing with stakeholders, time management, microsoft office, general corporate soft and hard skills
The programme is good, but simple. I've completed an undergraduate degree the year prior, so moving onto a level 3 has been too easy to keep my interest sustained.
The programme is well structured and split into units based on subjects that frequently appear in HR - Employee Relations, Data and analytics for example, and there's also a unit on your own personal development
I don't need any support on the apprenticeship work itself, just require support occasionally with work that i'm doing.
My training coach is excellent
It has really helped to cement some general HR knowledge that i'll likely use in the future; However personally I learn better by doing than academic learning.
There is the occasional job fairs that we go to, but this is very rare as i'm not apart of the Talent team
Yes
An excellent place to work, that really aims to be aligned to its values. Everyone who has come, has agreed that the people here is the best thing about Matalan and I fully agree with this
Be yourself - anyone can do a job, but finding a place that culturally works for you allows you to bring the best out of yourself!
