Stand ups with the rest of the team followed by a smaller meeting with those I directly work with. Rest of the day could be spend making presentations for clients, communicating with the developers, holding stakeholder engagements in person or online. On a learning day once a week there is a set pathway of different courses to complete.
ive improved my communication skills with clients and team members. my organisation skills have improved as ive had to create folders on my laptop to organise my different files. my time organisation has improved as ive had to schedule meeting around different peoples conflicting calendars and managing to complete tasks in between meetings.
my programme is great. the support given to us is good and i always feel like theres someone i can reach out to if i have any queries. The learning provided is linked very closely to the work i do and i always feel like theres overlap where i can apply my learning to my job which i love
It is great our programme is split into quarters. Within each quarter there is a clear map of what need to be completed with a completion bar to show you how much you have completed. We have monthly reviews with out foundation manager to talk about how our apprenticeship is going.
I receive good support. A lot of different perks make the job worth while. There are several senior figures who I can go to if I have any questions. I have an assistant who helps me to log my hours plan onto the system which is very helpful when first starting
Within our monthly reviews our training manager supports us to make sure we are reaching the goals necessary for completing our apprenticeship. As my training provider and employer is the same company there is a lot of overlap between the support I receive which makes it very easy to work and study.
It helps me in my tasks i remember there was one course specifically which I ended up implementing the day after I had completed it. The course is the junior management consultant pathway which lines up perfectly with my role as a junior management consultant. the skills i learn i can bring into work
Yes, Social activities I've already signed up to one within my first month of joining which is a party for all early professionals. There was also a spring party in the office with free pizza. I have signed up to compete in the corporate games in basketball which will be a great experience for me and I am part of the athlete network at IBM
Yes
It's a great company. Great pay, great perks, great training, great experience. I feel like it will open so many doors and opportunities for me in the future as experience at a huge company like IBM is very valuable. The support system is great and you never feel isolated
Make sure your role is one you want to do for the near future. The standard be yourself in your interview everyone says it but that is what worked for me. And one of the most important things I learned is that if something doesn't work out the first time keep trying and eventually you'll get there.
