My role at the nursery is to care and support every child’s needs and development in order to help them grow and build themselves as characters and gain confidence to try new things and learn new skills. Ensuring they are happy, healthy and learning and eating balanced meals.
I have developed my people and communication skills! This is something i have greatly improved through my apprenticeship as i have come to know and speak to parents! Aside from this i have developed lots of new knowledge surrounding the EYFS, the legislations and the key foundations of childcare.
So far i have thoroughly enjoyed my programme and wish to continue on with the same provider and assessors to achieve my level 3 childcare qualification after the completion of my level 2! Childcare is something i know i will go on to continue for many years!
My programme is very well structured and organised with clear expectations and deadlines. Support is given as and where needed and i understand all of my assessments and any tasks i am given clearly enabling me to get work done ahead of time and earlier than the deadlines!
I receive the upmost support in all regions in which i may be struggling whether it be within my setting, with the assignments and work load or even personal problems outside of work. They really do value my position within the workplace and make my needs feel met.
My training provider gives me the most support of all! Helping me deal with time management and any parts of my assignments i am struggling with! My training provider understands that i can’t always be 100% and is very supportive to my emotional state as well as work.
I feel as though through the correct training and knowledge i have gained through the apprenticeship course has allowed me to see and act on things much quicker than i had done to begin with. And it has allowed me to help the children reach developmental milestones!
There are no extra-curricular activities usually to get involved in. However i am aware that there has been in the past fundraisers for certain charities held and at the end of the preschool term the eldest preschoolers have a ‘teddy bears picnic’ to celebrate them going to primary school.
Yes
I feel as though i have learnt so much more through the apprenticeship program and working on the job then i ever would have done if i had just read from a text book and took a test. You build relationships and special bonds whilst on the job.
Dont be afraid to ask questions! Tell your training provider what it is exactly you would like to focus your learning on and gain new knowledge in! They are there to support you through everything whether it be work or things happening in your personal life too.
