we change placements every 4-6 months to get an insight of different areas of the business and the job is specific to different roles. My first placement was a planning role and i spent my time assisting the operation through ensuring the tasks are ready to start.
I have learnt various IT skills. Communication skills and personal skills. I have learnt how to adapt to change and evaluate problems with different outcomes.
I enjoy my programme a lot. I have a nice team and my placements I have enjoyed as I've got to know the team on a friendship level as well as professional.
There is sometimes a lack of communication throughout our learning days however other then that the structure of the programme is well organised.
My placement manager provides much support if required and my line manager and apprenticeship manager provides support when any problem is faced.
I am currently not far in through my learning however my training provider supports any help needed when asked and is happy to help.
Personally, I do no think that my training and learning through my qualifications helps me perform better in my role as i believe i already possess those skills that i have learnt.
There are always opportunities to network and do projects such as STEM as you go through your work. This consists of going to schools to answer questions and expand the knowledge of the company to younger people in hopes they join BAE.
Yes
I think that BAE is a good company to work for with many different career opportunities and provides a good knowledge base around business and how operations are run within a business.
Make sure that you know what you would like to do however if you do not, any apprenticeship will allow you to go into another one after you finish or explore your career options.
