  • As a cyber engineer apprentice my role consists learning new skills relevant to cyber security and then putting them into practice through various tasks.

  • Yes I have learned a lot of skills on the job I would argue that i have learned more at work than at Uni

  • I enjoy the program to an extent where I understand the benefits and draw backs of being a year 1 apprentice in the sense that while I am still learning useful skills. Some tasks can see a bit irrelevant or menial

  • As far as the business is concerned it is very well organised but as for the Uni it is a bit chaotic.

  • Loads. I may be speaking for myself in this case but the level of support I get from my manager and early careers is AMAZING !

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My coach at Cranfield is amazing and so is my Programming lecturer how ever i cant say ive had great experiences with others.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Currently right now I don't think it does at all i think i will only feel like that once i get to specialise in cyber which is after my second year.

  • yes there are loads of social events organised by various different people and everyone is welcome.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I think Its an excellent place to work for especially if youre trying to pursue a career in IT/engineering


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Brush up on your mental maths skills. I failed at the psychometrics test the first time I applied.
