My daily roles included responding to emails and preparing tax returns for my clients. Alongside this I am expected to help out on the main line during the busier times of the year. My daily objective is to prepare at least 8 tax returns and to respond within 24 hours
One existing skill that I have developed is my maths skills since starting AAT. As I work in tax rather than accountancy the majority of the curriculum is new to me. This ensures that each lesson I am acquiring new knowledge which will help me to progress in my career.
I enjoy the programmed very much. Since I started my job at optionis when I first left school I had always wanted to start studying AAT. I enjoy learning all about the industry and the daily job roles of an accountant. I also enjoy my monthly meeting with my tutor.
The program is very well organised. The use BUD.com helps me see clearly when each task is due, the instruction for each task are always explained very clearly in the description section and I never struggle with what to do. The lesson calendar ensure that we stay on track .
My employer provided me with a lot of support as I am allowed study days and exam days in the work week without this affecting my annual leave. My line manager is extremely supporting and is always there to help me with any problem or worries I have towards my apprenticeship.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider. For example the woman, who teaches my lesson always offers 1-2-1 support or extra study time if anyone needs it. Angie my personal tutor is always willing to help with any queries or worries I have. This makes me feel very supported with my qualification.
The qualification helps me a lot as I am able to give client a much better and in depth answer to any queries they have regrading their accounts. The qualification also helps me understand how my job role fits in to the wider business and why y job is important
At my work we have a cycle to work scheme which encourages people to not drive their car to and from work if they live close by. The office also have their own football team which meet up a few times each month and this encourages team building and excersize.
Yes
I think it is a really good place to work. There are lots of great employee benefits such as the cycle to work scheme, dental and medical insurance and amazon vouchers for 5 start reviews. Everybody is extremely friendly and easy to get a long with inside and outside of work .
If you wish to apply for a job, I would advise that you do so as the company fully supports you through your education. I would advise that you ensure you prepare a professional looking and up to date CV and be extremely confident during the entirety of the interview.
