  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a supply Planner, this involves raising purchase orders for customers from suppliers and organising delivery into our depots. This has allowed me to liaise with suppliers, work as part of a team and improve confidence through leading meetings

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have better improved my use of Programmes such as Excel, Power BI. I have improved my communication and confidence through speaking regularly with suppliers and leading meetings with them.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I Really enjoy my day-to-day job as it allows me to communicate with a lot of different people. I find myself having new challenges regularly that I have to overcome and solve which is enjoyable. The University side of my course is engaging, but can be difficult.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Programme is really well structured. I have a set day once a week for lectures/study and regularly visits to university to have seminars. There is a good work/University balance. The designated day means I know what to expect and do not feel obliged to work over doing my course.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from My employer. I have a great relationship with my manager who I can talk to on a regular basis. I then have support from more senior managers. I often have messages from the Emerging talent Team inviting me to events.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a decent amount of support. They have been very supportive when I have needed any additional days for my assignments. They are happy to answer any questions about assignments and work. I have regular meetings from them to make sure that I am okay at work

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My Qualification gives me a greater understanding of the world surrounding my job role. I feel as if I have a greater appreciation and better understand the parts to the puzzle, that perhaps when I started I was oblivious to. I have not yet used anything specifically with my job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At work there are different Charity events going on. We also have events for Apprentices and can organise and meet up outside of work with a budget for events. I have attended a few professional events towards the start. However, these have perhaps slowed down since

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The company is very friendly and supportive. They offer a competitive wage that better reflects the kind of work that you do. They have lots of opportunities to experience various places in the work place that is insightful.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DHL?
  • To be yourself, through all the interviews and onboarding process don't be afraid to be yourself and be confident.
