This was a hybrid experience. Over a range of few days you worked collaboratively with others involved and the final outcome was a presentation as a group. Many industry thriving professionals were there to network and offer their expertise to students, providing knowledge that money cannot buy from an individual. Moreover, it taught us about the professional application process while giving us the broad range of career paths available.
Effectively learnt how to network with professionals and work in a group. This was evident in our presentation building. Moreover it developed confidence as you had to present in front of peers and professionals alike, hence nerve racking. It also taught us to be ambitious with people of different backgrounds making it to different places.
I enjoyed it quite a lot. It allowed me to find others who share the same aspirations as mine and develop priceless friendships and connections. It also allowed me to view into my future more, giving me hope and courage and more confident in a clearer path that I want to take into the work field.
It was extremely well organised. There was a singular lady particularly in charge and she received the utmost support from her colleagues. They were always readily available and interactive with us if there was a problem or if there was inconvenience and always actively helped support us to make it there and our issues.
They had a very big emphasis on company culture. This was seen as they gave presentations about their ethics, and constantly reiterated. The individuals embodied the culture of their work place and it is definitely a culture I see myself applying myself and being in. All the professionals present would echo the words of the company culture.
I had already had an idea about my future career path, however this clarified it even more and offered me a larger selection of careers that I had never even thought about before. An example is an actuary. It helped as there were professionals there that could help me decide and understand.
You were reimbursed. Any costs there that were used for travelling or getting to their work place was reimbursed by the organisation. Moreover food and drinks were provided everyday that you had went there. This made going there and costs really affordable and allowed for more accessibility for everyone to arrive there.
There were many opportunities to meet other employees. This was a standout feature. There was a designated speed networking session which allowed us to be introduced to many industry professionals. Moreover, they took their time out to hang around with us while we were on our lunch break to speak to us.
Yes
I would definitely recommend aon as it is a priceless experience. It offers you an opportunity to amplify and diversify your skill and gives you the chance to have more clarification about your future. It gives you an opportunity to learn about what you didn't even know to learn about, it is quite remarkable.
Having a strong competitive CV is very important. This highlights the core points and values of you as an individual and allows you to get yourself across to who you are and what you stand for, additionally and most importantly what you offer. It is important to show what skills you offer and can build.
