I help the project engineers with all their procurement orders for sub contracts for their separate jobs using processes with TACA's/MWO's and ECM Enterprise, which when ready to pay I set up the payments on programmes called SAP and CPA I then log onto a register the amount and who is payed.
I have definitely improved my email writing and maths skills plus i have become much more familiar with all systems such as microsoft excel, powerpoint, visio, project, word and sharepoint. I have also been learning how to do Kier and Anglian water specific systems such as Activ and Cost to Complete forms
So far the programme has be very enjoyable, I have good bosses/mentors/managers who have helped me a lot since I have arrived which has made the whole process a lot easier. I have enjoyed working in the office as well because of the people around me, I also have the opportunity to work from home if i need to which is also helpful
The programme is very well organised/structured it has very simple systems which makes it easy to locate any folders or information sheets you may need which makes my daily tasks much easier to complete. it is also a very secure system by requesting password changes to every system every 3 to 4 months.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, I am in constant contact with my managers and mentors as well as my employer which is beneficial for my daily tasks, responsibilities and projects as I always know if I am doing things right and if I am not I can learn from my mistakes easier.
My training provider has supported me fairly well so far, I only travel up to Sheffield one week every 3 to 4 months but my tutors are very quick and they are always very helpful when replying to emails. When I am actually in Sheffield as the classes are small it is very beneficial because the tutors can explains things easier and clearer
Whilst completing my qualification I am learning more about why we go through the processes instead of just learning how to do the process, this is beneficial to help me in my role because I get a much greater understanding of everything we do which helps me do them better.
For extra curricular activities in my office we have an office or team nights out every couple of months this helps everyone in the office become closer and work better as a team inside office hours, also creates a more sociable office experience. We also have events such as moving through May and a Regatta which are both every year
Yes
I would recommend Kier Group to a friend as everyone here has been very helpful with my development and patient with things I haven't learned how to do yet. From my experience Kier Group also treat you very well with lots of company benefits also as a person not a number
When I applied to Kier Group I did it through Indeed and their website, I had to have a lot of patience but it was worth it in the end, due to having to wait months I called the HR team a few times to show i'm still interested which I believe helped my application as I ended up having calls with people who ended up interviewing me so I was more confident in the whole process and had already built relationships with them.
