i liaise with my manager and my team on the tasks that have been set to complete for the day. i also have a responsibility to input costs into the cost plan and also build up rates. we used different systems to come up with the costs of the project
i now have the ability to used Microsoft excel and all the different measuring systems. they have also taught me how to properly interact with client teams. i have had the ability to go on site and see the progress and transfer them skills over to my day to day role
i enjoy my programme as they offer different networking opportunities ti meet new people and they also hold aspire series where we can see different careers we can go into in the construction industry and push you out your comfort zone by showing you the different opportunities to move abroad
it is well organised with specific training days that are held so we can get an understanding of different roles and speak to people higher up in the business to learn from them. they also have an emerging talent team what greatly help you if you are struggling in your role or mentally
i revive a great amount from my employer, this year i had significant issues at home and they provided me with compassionate leave and they also provided allot of support in my day to day role and constantly checking how i am and what they are able to do to help
i receive allot of support as i have weekly calls with my manager to check how i am progressing with my HNC. they also join calls with my university to make sure i am staying on track with what i need to be doing and upcoming coursework
when putting together a cost plan my university modules help me as they give me an understanding of the different aspects of construction and how the different costs are associated with it. the also help me to understand the legal regulations behind construction phases and i have a greater understanding when interacting with the client
