My overall role is to care for children in a private nursery, i ensure they are safeguarded every day , i ensure they are eating and drinking throughout the day and I also play with them and comfort them when they are sad. I have my own key children too who I have to take observations of weekly
I have learnt many new skills and developed existing skills too, I mainly have developed new skills around safeguarding and healthy eating , I have developed existing skills such as changing nappies and generally playing and comforting the children within my nursery setting , taking observations is something new I have also learnt
I enjoy my programme to the extent where I feel at home , at work. Which I love I am always welcomed by the staff every morning and we are like a big family! I love my job because it don’t feel like a job I have a true passion for working with children.
My programme is very well organised, I have monthly visits/phone calls with my tutor about work I have completed and will need to complete for the next month and if I have any worries or need help I can contact her whenever, I have weekly set times given to me by my manger which is either a day off or a day in the office to complete my work
I received a lot of support from my employer. She helps me a lot if I am ever struggling with anything at all I can approach her , she gives me dedicated time to get my coursework dont and helps me with this if I am struggling, she also teaches me new skills regularly
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when it comes to working towards my qualifications , she helps me if I am every struggling and all I need to do is ring or text her and she will help me , she will then explain what I need to do or send me more things which helps me understand what she is asking from me
I feel like the things I learn from my training programme help me a lot when working as I learn new things and understand my own roles and responsibilities better than I did beforehand, I also understand things like British values and safeguarding more as I have done assignments on these now
There are things for the children such as musical masters or diddy dance or diddy rugby but not so much for the adults as it is a nursery, we get to have parties for the jubilee or the coronation for the king , we get to enjoy theee with children and parents
Yes
It is an amazing nursery which are very understanding from a staff point of view and a parents point of view. The manager is amazing and very very helpful and always wants all of her staff to succeed and do the best they possibly can! She works amazingly around appointments or funerals or shift patterns that may suit you better if needed.
If you ever need help or are worries about anything just confine in the manager. She is will not judge you and will help you to the best of her ability! All the other staff are amazing and make you feel at home 24/7 always are there to help you with your coursework too if you ever struggle
