right now my role involves building the necessary technical skills needed in order to carry out the project that i will start in the foreseeable future. I am assigned to the skillsmatch bootcamp so I spend my time in education, mainly working through the java script course on udemy, shadowing developers and asking pertinent questions etc i feel as though i learn more everyday and i feel my self-confidence grow too.
I had pretty much no experience in coding and no technical skills. So far am able to code at a basic level, i have increased my knowledge through your learning in regards to the business conduct guidelines and various other mini courses that have perked my interest. most importantly, i have learnt how to navigate the workspace, i am a new worker and i have learnt what it means to work professionally.
i enjoy it immensely. none of the days feel tedious and boring. i always have something new to learn. initially i was anxious because i anticipated that i would be overwhelmed with new information. however the pacing is impeccable. i never run out of new things to learn yet i don't feel as though i am bombarded with information.
it is incredibly structured. in the mornings without fail we have our stand up meetings where we report back to our leader how much independent learning we were able to get done the day before. we have regular check ups throughout the day and we can always reach out to each other for questions
i receive support from all areas. what i like about ibm is that there is no sense of superiority within the workplace. if you have a pressing matter you can ask anyone no matter how qualified they are. assigned to me solely for support is my buddy and i ask my foundation manager for help too when there is a more private conern
as of now i havent started my education yet at the training provider
