It involves cost analysis for food and hotel consulambles and i also do all the postings at month end, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations. I look to see where we can save costs and find ways to improve our systems. I help other areas with other bits. Go on the ships to do a audit.
Yes my excel skills are always improving on a daily basis. Always learning new accounts procedures and taking on more work. learning new systems is always happening, we have quite a few where we work. Every company you work for has different way of doing things so you are constantly new ways.
I really like the tutors and if you dont understand something they will go the extra mile to help you, i also like my skills coach she is amazing and has been a great support to me and has helped me every step of the way either to move some bits or just be there for a chat.
It is structured very well, i have joined the classes where you attend for like 8 weeks in a row and they go over most of the book and give you homework and help you in the class, if you have any questions you can email them and they will come back to you.
I dont really go to my employer for support i use the resources at babington they are amazing and will help me with all that i need. The work i do at work is in line with my course so that helps. If i need to know anything extra i can ask work to provide me that work.
I get loads of support from Babington they go above and beyond, i cant fault them they are amazing and i have recommended them for people who want to do a apprenticeship. They will do anything to help you and make you succeed in your goal to qualify as a accountant,
Quite a lot because the level i am doing is in line with my job, so if i don't understand something i can always ask my jo0b or babington to explain a bit better so i can fit that in with my work and help me understand it better. It would help if it was all how we are taught but its all about the principles
Yes we get together alot, we have event days, we also meet up on the cruise ships and have lunch on board , we do volunteer days and help out the community. We have team lunches, some of us go and have a pub lunch on a friday if we are in the office.
Yes
Saga is a great place to work, we have loads of different sections of the business, even in finance there are loads of departments all doing different things. We all come together as we try and be one. You get a work family and you can connect with some many different people.
Do your research on the company first, see what section you would like to work in the good thing is also you can move around sections, saga likes this so you gain as much experience as possible. You will love the work life balance. We are a good team across all sections.
