SYAP Application Developer Review

When you are employed on a project, you take a role of developer and attend daily stand ups and meetings with customers as well as carry the development work with fellow developers or on you own. If a project hasn't been assigned then you are free to spend the time training.

I entered the job role with very little technical knowledge. A few months into the role, various pathways were shown that I could specialise in. I currently have a Python certification and am working towards gaining more. The company pays for all training and exams. I also learn on the Junior Talent Program that focusses or on Personal Growth and Business.

I really enjoy studying and working simultaneously. I receive a lot of support from my manager especially when University starts to pick up and a lot of colleagues are supportive ad ensure that you are able to grow and learn in your job. They do not expect you straight away to start working professionally.

It is well organised, with weekly and tri-monthly reviews completed both by my line manager and my University tutor. The Inductions were also informing and helped you fit in to the role more comfortably. Alongside work, Fujitsu has a 2 year Junior Talent Program that is well organised too.

I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have a manager that has weekly meetings with me to catch up on my well-being and progress. I also have resources an medical facilities available upon request. Especially when university gets demanding I receive the time and space to focus on it.

I have a Practice Tutor that I can always contact and I get prompt responses. Also each of my modules have tutors so if I am unsure about anything regarding University work or Assignments I can email them and receive immediate replies that solve my issues. There is also Student Support that is available.

It gives me more confidence especially with planning and organising my work. It also teaches me the basic fundamentals of IT and some coding languages although not all are relevant to my work role as there are not always projects in those specific coding languages that I learn at University.

Yes, there are many to choose from; Office Days for Junior Talent, Junior Talent Newsletter, Site Rep, working with the charity partner, working with local school and aiding with CV's and interviews, Hackathons, Lunch and Learn, Japanese Buddy Program, Conferences and Networking Events across Europe as well as many other events.

It is a company that focusses on growth of an employee. You are able to learn many skills and apply them in projects that make a difference. There is a very supportive cohort of Apprentices as well as mangers that are there with you every step of the way. The job roe is also mostly flexible in terms of where you work and the company benefits are also great.

Focus on the current skills you have and how you can apply them to your applied job role. When researching Fujitsu, find a specific product or project that really interests you and make sure you talk about it. When doing your group activities in your interview, make sure you take the lead or a significant role to show your initiative.
