I work in Asset Management in the Real estate and Private Markets division. I focus on Research and Business management for the indirect real estate business. Research includes forecasting and providing market outlooks and business management is more focused on the operational side.
Excel is main a part of my job and i only had minimal experience with it before joining however now I can use formulas and macros. Other skills include time management, networking and presentation skills
I enjoy working in an office and talking to new people. I also like having the mix of studying and learning. I enjoy working in my team and learning about real estate.
Fairly well structured however I am the second year group of apprentices in my division and the first apprentice in my team. This means there are not many people who understand the program and its structure and therefore we can sometimes be working things out in real time. In terms of the education provider, the structure is more established and therefore we are made aware of how things will work in advance
I receive a lot of support from my employer from many people, including my line manager, my business sponsor and the program lead.
Lots of support with many people to turn to if i have concern about anything.
Partially helps but not always that relevant to my role. But occasionally i will be able to apply my knowledge to my role. It would be helpful if we did some more practical skills modules ie excel
Yes, many networks to join and they hold events. There are a few sports teams too
Yes
Nice work environment and culture where people take the time to coach you and are patience when explaining things rather than being focused on short term results
Dont be afraid to make mistakes as it is a good place to learn and people are willing to help
