  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes using an application that is sent in monthly with payments for the previous month and I take the costs from the application and put them into other spreadsheets. Then I put them onto the company system, after the costs are approved, so that they can be paid by the finance department

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new things for example about NEC contracts and what they need to be a valid contract. I have developed my excel spreadsheet knowledge from being very basic to now knowing a fair amount, this was done by just general every day use on the applications and spreadsheets.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme to a fair extent as it gives me the opportunity to work but also be able to get my degree at the same time. Although sometimes it can be draining I find doing both at the same time helpful as they both help with knowledge from different sides

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well structured as I have a set day for my uni day every week where I can put all of my attention to my degree study. My uni work is also well structured and easy to find which is needed as its an online platform to access the work

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very helpful with any queries I may have and always friendly. The company has a early careers adviser team who reach out frequently about anything coming up that the apprentices may want to join in or be a part of. All staff are friendly and helpful when you need to ask them something.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The module leaders are very helpful with answering queries about the work and helping resolve any issues. Also, there is a team from any issue an apprentice may have and the staff are friendly and kind and will try there best to understand the question or issue and resolve it

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helps me to perform better in my role as it gives me the chance to learn the industry knowledge more broadly rather than the tailored knowledge that I need to know for my work. This is useful as it helps to understand more about the role and what is expected
