My role involves learning the processes and functions of the business. I have been and will be going from department to department, learning their roles and responsibilities. My role involves a large amount of shadowing and being mentored in order to assist me in understanding how the department operates. I will also work on my university modules
The amount of skills i have already developed is immense. from day 1 I have been given an abundance of development opportunities and they will continue throughout the whole of my apprenticeship. I have most improved my communication and collaboration skills since joining, as I am now comfortable raising concerns and working with colleagues to resolve issues
So far this program has been very enjoyable. I have learnt a great amount since joining and I am sure that will continue. My colleagues have been very supportive and helpful with me being in a completely new environment and I really believe there is a family mentality within the site.
Overall, my program is structured fairly well. The departments I work with are dependent on what my university module is and I believe this is very positive for developing academically and at work. However, with me being the first person do do this apprenticeship, there were a small number of issues when i first started in terms of structure.
I receive a great amount of support from my employer. Despite structural changes support has remained throughout and my colleagues have always supported me with any concerns or issue. I know that i would be able to raise any concern and have it dealt with appropriately. Overall I feel greatly supported.
As I am the first person to be involved in this apprenticeship, I have found it slightly difficult to get support academically. This is due to the fact that a lot of it is still unknown. I am sure that as I continue my course this will improve as the business gets more familiar with what I am doing.
My qualification is exactly suited to the role I am in and will be doing in the future. My studies coincide with what i am doing at work which gives me both knowledge and experience. As my course is fairly broad it means that I will use most of the skills learnt regardless of the role
There a couple of activities I am able to join such as a football team where a small number of people join every week to play. there are regular socializing events with colleagues including bowling and having a meal. Tickets tow watch Leicester city are given out regularly as a reward and a great incentive.
Yes
Despite it being a huge global business, the family mentality within the sites is very apparent. The support is fantastic and the development opportunities are endless. Colleagues are very helpful and help provide a very positive workspace. Overall I would recommend people to join PepsiCo and get involved in this fantastic program.
One thing to keep in mind is to ensure that you are suitable to the certain role. Certain jobs require particular experience and set of skills. Make sure to research the values and the PepsiCo way as they are very important within any role. It is a fantastic place to work at and I would recommend to anyone!
