My role included the preparation and submission or corporate tax returns. This includes undertaking the calculations required to provide clients with tax disclosures ahead of the finalisation of the tax computation. Additionally, I carry out the admin side of tax which includes the fees and risk.
Many new numerical skills and mathematical as well as the use of excel. Job related i have learnt a lot of tax legislation and skills of how to calculate certain tax amounts and %'s.
i enjoy it a lot, the team is great and the job in challenging yet fun. I just cannot wait to be qualified.
As long as you stay on track with the exams it is fairly organised, however as soon as the exam dates change it can become a bit unorganised.
They do provide a lot of support and training calls and most of my colleagues are there to help if i have queries. Additionally, we have a whole team dedicated to supporting individuals who are undertaking professional qualifications.
A fair amount, they run calls before the first set of exams and also have quarterly calls to see how we are doing and to give any updates.
to some extent yes, the exams have helped me understand a lot more of the tax side of things. however some exams are not really related to my job.
Yes lots, from football to badminton to social event which included a night out. Lots of networking events too.
