Listening and questioning skills have developed along with learning new techniques throughout the course. opened my mind to not go into the mentor role and change my approaches to certain indivuals or tasks too
Practicing the coaching skills taught in the workshops and seeing these put into practice. The workshops and time with the tutors has been fine its making sure that the time is put aside to complete assignements and coaching sessions during busy periods of our trade hasnt been enjoyable
due to the extent of Peak trade, the structure of the programme compromised with my availablity for workshops i have had to play catch up since February and re do 4 workshops and continue with my coaching sessions, 5 assignments in a small space of time
Ive been able to put time aside since Febraury to complete addidtional work but its been hard to make time during the peak trade which kicked in October through to mid January
My initial one on one Tutor was good with the feedback in my sessions but i was concerned with how far i was falling back, when i was assigned a new tutor ive felt alot more comfortable with the plan set
its opened my eyes to diffeterent ways in which i can present myself to my staff and other working colleagues in different settings and i have been trying to find areas in which i can do thinks differently using what i have learnt so far
we only have annual Store Manager meeting to network with the buyers, this was just as i started the course so ive not been able to put things into practice. Other than that we dont have anything in work.
Yes
in management there is alot of work to be done but if its done correctly and efficiently there are no issues and you are rewarded with a competitive salary compared to other retail outlets
be open minded, be fully flexible and be prepared to put in the hard work from day one
