My role involves writing analytical summaries and briefings for ministers or other teams. I also actively monitor market conditions, producing various products (such as dashboards or daily updates) or market movements and conditions. I lead on a policy area, which involves project management responsibilities, overseeing the work on a policy product.
During the role I've learnt analytical skills in financial markets, Bloomberg skills, Excel skills, and Coding skills. I've also developed soft skills such as a communication and stakeholder management.
I really enjoy the programme. Both the work and the study are interesting, and challenging. I find that they tie in well and I have learnt loads.
It is fairly well structured but organisation and communication about our future within the programme could be useful. Also a better structure for promotion would work well.
The employer has been very helpful and supportive.
The training provider is very supportive.
My role ties in closely with the degree, so the training helps me to perform in the role.
Personally I've been involved with the cricket team, and there are also plenty of social and networking opportunities.
