My role involves account management at an operational level. I manage a few retailers by ensuring their orders are up to date; reviewing and analysing their accounts to streamline and optimise processes and efficiency from both sides.
I've learned numerous skills such as presenting to larger audiences and how to keep listeners engaged. I've also learned better collaboration skills with all types of stakeholders. Furthermore, I have improved on my relationship building skills .
I enjoy my programme a lot as there is still the social element from being around other apprentices and interns as well as being treated and viewed as an important part of the team and not just an apprentice.
The programme is very structured as I have Fridays dedicated to my off the job training as well as the opportunity to take study days if needed when it is exam season etc.
I receive a lot of support from my employer e.g. study days allowance, my line manager is supportive in terms of releasing me of my workload if needed when i have deadlines etc.
There is a lot of support such as platforms with guidance for things such as mental health; needing deadline extensions; I also have an appointed apprentice advisor who I can go to for further support and help.
My qualification gives me the theoretical aspect to my role, as well as learning about what is happening in the real world and how it can impact my day-to-day role.
Yes, there is sporting activities such as netball, football, charity events. Our teams also have social committees whom organise after work events such as axe throwing, mini golf etc.
Yes
L'Oreal is an amazing place to work the support system is very well rounded and there is always more to learn. People are willing to always help and guide you in the right direction whilst giving you the opportunity to grow and flourish as an apprentice.
It's not important to have all the knowledge about beauty and cosmetics but more about having the right attitude and the willingness to learn and be a part of team.
