  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Assisting Senior Project Managers with their role which includes risk management, writing meeting minutes, stakeholder engagement, creating trackers, writing processes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt how to manage a project, including several different project management techniques which I am combining to create my own style of project management. I am also learning different construction techniques that will help when managing construction projects.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy how much I have learnt during my apprenticeship and that I can apply this on a day to day basis. I work with some great people who are always willing to help me learn and improve my skills.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The university and workplace have very little communication to ensure that the both align, so often the two are not fully related.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get a lot of support from my employer, especially during the end of term when exams are and assignments are due. I often get my colleagues to read through assignments as well and provide advice to help me improve.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider does not provide me with enough support during lecture but they do offer other support if required although I have not needed to use this support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification gives me a fairly good understanding of the theory behind some aspects of my role in a more generic sense which I am starting to be able to apply to my role on a day to day basis.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am part of the office social committee so I often get involved in organising themed social evenings in the office, an externally located summer party for families and also the Christmas party.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Arcadis is a great place to work and creates a culture where everyone is able to flourish and learn. They allow you to work on some interesting projects that give you a great range of experience especially as an apprentice.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arcadis?
  • Make sure to read up on the values of the company and make sure these align with your own values because all the work we deliver has a heavy focus on this.
