  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I provide technical support to our customers, this can range from arranging replacement parts to scheduling engineers or consultancy

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since beginning my role I have learnt a basic understanding of the Linux operating system, A deeper understanding of computer hardware as well as the support processes of several manufacturers

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The Apprenticeship Programme I took was to develop my customer service skills. The external tutor was good company during our meetings, and the workplace role itself can be calm, with agreeable people around me on a day to day basis.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The organisational structure of the programme itself was more suited to a sales role, from my perspective. The skills were still applicable if interpreted the correct way. Coursework and Materials were given at a good pace, and I was able to get support whenever needed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My Employer was able to supply support where needed, though I did not have to rely upon them too much from a perspective of needing help. They were able to provide work throughout the apprenticeship and supported the tasks I was being given.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The Training Provider was able to provide support whenever necessary, as well as clarification when I was uncertain.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The skills learned from the qualification can be applied to my daily role through helping me see things from the customer perspective more often.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Social Events are somewhat frequent when the occasion calls for it, I partake in these willingly. There were talks to begin a more regularly occurring social gathering, but this has not yet been put into action.

  • 9a. Would you recommend OCF Limited to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The people are kind and welcoming, and willing to share knowledge and offer assistance if required. The casual nature of the office is wholly different to what my expectations of office work were, much to my enjoyment.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to OCF Limited?
  • Have a groundwork for the skills required in the field in order to allow a smoother initiation.
