Due to the nature of the organisation, Day to day tasks change. As a general rule, my job role is to supervise the operation, Depending on the shift this may be supervising people as they work, or monitoring the progress of delivery drivers. mostly it is to ensure operational goals are met
Everyday I am learning how to better my own skills such as, Personal time management, or communication skills - to a varying audience, managers, other departments, peers, subordinates - I am also learning new things such as managing costs, operational strategy, understanding organisational behaviour and culture whilst also learning the content provided in the degree
the programme is amazing. 4 days a week with one entire day dedicated to study, full wages instead of an apprentice rate, my degree is paid for, when attending Uni I am put up in a hotel, I benefit from the 'employee benefits' that the organisation has to offer. Great
the structure of the course is decent. very efficient in terms of the ability to gain knowledge and learn however it is slightly annoying to master a job role and then have it change after a short while. The organisation of the course could be better. breaks in communication has caused issues for many participants.
As much as i need. Amazon is not the best at just giving support. but since gaining the confidence to ask for help and support, it is always provided when asked for. Also people from sites different to my own are always happy to help with operational issues which is very useful
i am obligated to one shift per week dedicated to study time. This was not provided until I asked for it but as soon as I explained that it was confirmed, it was provided to me. I have been able to ask other staff for help regarding specifically university assignments and have always been helped
Due to the nature of the role, as a supervisor with plans to become a manager, the qualification of prof. business management is massively beneficial to my performance. By learning as i am gaining experience, I am able to apply what i learn in the classroom to my daily role
Yes, Amazon emphasises the opportunities for employees to involve themselves in extra curricular activites. Fun events such as bowling, watching the rugby, paintballing and many others have been suggested by employees and then organised by the company and offered up to staff to attend. Provides a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and boosts moral
Yes
The opportunities provided to myself for personal professional development whilst also furthering my career path are genuinely amazing. The compensation, benefits and opportunities available make amazon stand out to me as a genuinely great employer. This has led me to believe anyone could benefit from employment at amazon as i have
be prepared to be overwhelmed. The first week at amazon it was like being in an entirely new world. The scale of the organisation, the concepts presented to me were unlike anything i had seen before. Also understand how dynamic the workplace can be, even though in essence we just deliver cardboard
