it can be demanding because guests expect a lot more for their money paid. I enjoy meeting lots of different people from all over the world. Guests come to the hotel to sleep, meet family and friends and maybe go to work.
Using a new computer to enter customer details. Conversations to make guests at ease and smooth over problems.
I am learning a new skill. I can use this reception skill in an office or another hotel around the world.
A bit slow at times but there is a structured programme. Sometimes I need to be pushed and sometimes my manager needs to be pushed.
I get a lot of feedback from my employer and plenty of support from colleagues of neighbouring branches.
I have a module to follow so i can ask for help and support if i don't understand something.
I feel qualified in this new field and more confident in talking to the general public.
We have professional networking but I want to go down that root. I am still waiting for the last two Christmas parties.
