  • My day-to-day role includes engaging with colleagues and customers, cold calling, admin work, account research, training, customer meetings, and much more. My role is extremely customer facing and I have to problem solve whilst being professional.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes - I have learned about CompTIA which is a training session that explains the components of a computer and how they work together to create a working piece of kit, I have also learned about specific vendors and their products.

  • I really enjoy the program it is challenging but I am learning every day.

  • The organisation could be better but everything has worked out fine so far.

  • The support from Softcat is amazing, anybody will support you and help with any questions you have,

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support is there if we need it. I have regular check-ins with my learning mentor and his boss and they are both very supporting.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training sessions that I attended were very beneficial to my work life as I am new to Sales and did not know the psychology etc of selling and these courses and training sessions have been beneficial.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes - I am part of the SWIB Softcat Women in Business, I am part of the Culture Committee and also the 'Softcat Singers', there are lots of social events, sports activities but I do not attend these.

  • Yes

  • Softcat is an amazing company, you can start and blossom your career here in many different roles, there is so much opportunity to be promoted and do well for yourself and it is a company that respects its employees. It is a stepping stone to move into the corporate world.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
  • Research the Company, realize that Sales takes drive and determination, have career goals and ambitions, and make sure that you are a social [person as there are social events every single week.
