At the moment I am being put through college full-time until June. In college I am doing an NC in mechanical engineering and a PEO. The PEO involves all the practical skills I will need once I'm on the yard like pipefitting and welding. The PEO also provides other skills outwith my job such as lathe work and fabrication.
I have reinforced and developed skills in welding, pipefitting, sheet metal fabrication, hand tools, power tools and even electrical work. These skills will make a productive worker and help me outside of the workplace during home DIY. Overall I have learnt, developed and reinforced many skills related to my job and related fields.
I am really enjoying my program. I have build good relations with colleagues, developed, reinforced and learned new skills. I have nothing bad to say about BAE although some of the management of the college has at times not been enjoyable although this has nothing to do with BAE who have supported me throughout.
BAE Systems when outside of the college have been well structured and organised. Although the collge managed have not been well structured and organised. During the last few weeks of the college term we have been made to pass an additional subject and we are not receiving the full time required to complete it.
BAE systems have been I very supportive employer. BAE Systems employees have been supportive and have listened to any concerns I have about my apprenticeship and work in the company. Whenever I have a problem about college or work I know who to contact. BAE I made effort to inform us of all the necessary people to contact weither it be for mental health, work conditions and safety.
