  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At the moment I am being put through college full-time until June. In college I am doing an NC in mechanical engineering and a PEO. The PEO involves all the practical skills I will need once I'm on the yard like pipefitting and welding. The PEO also provides other skills outwith my job such as lathe work and fabrication.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have reinforced and developed skills in welding, pipefitting, sheet metal fabrication, hand tools, power tools and even electrical work. These skills will make a productive worker and help me outside of the workplace during home DIY. Overall I have learnt, developed and reinforced many skills related to my job and related fields.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying my program. I have build good relations with colleagues, developed, reinforced and learned new skills. I have nothing bad to say about BAE although some of the management of the college has at times not been enjoyable although this has nothing to do with BAE who have supported me throughout.
