I am currently in first year so the first full year of my apprenticeship is based at college. At college we do academic classes and also PEO workshop classes which relate to my role at BAE and will prepare me for my job role when i work on the yard full time.
During my time so far at college, I have built on previous workshop skills which will benefit me when i go to work on the yard. I have also developed my team work skills as i have learned how important teamwork is at BAE. Working at BAE has also built my confidence.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship programme. I enjoy being faced with new tasks and pushing myself. As it is still my first year, there is alot for me to learn each day which i enjoy as I will never be bored. I also love being part of such a big team.
I believe the structure could have been better this year on the college's part as there has been long amounts of time with no or minimal workload and then others when I have been stressed with too many assessments at the one time. This has been discussed with BAE systems at rep meetings and changes seem to be being made.
I have received lots of support from my employer whenever i have requested it.
I receive all the support i need when i reach out and ask for it.
I feel that the majority of my classes directly relate to my career role and will benefit me.
I am unsure.
Yes
BAE is a great company to work for. It is a career not just a job and the people who work here already go out of their way to help you.
Do it.
