Go to College in Barrow and work towards a Manufacturing engineer qualification Level 2 and Level 3 which consists of Mechanical workshop, electrical workshop and welding workshop tasks as well as business improvement activities and Underpinning knowledge questions alongside Mechanical Principles and engineering Maths which we do exams in as well.
I've developed and refreshed my engineering skills from previous experience as well as widening my social skills as I am with people from different backgrounds and ages as well as other jobs and companies.
I find it enjoyable I'm just really excited to continue onto the next levels and get on the job experiences and training.
Very well structured we are made to complete tasks and work in order to develop our engineering knowledge and understandings as well as being treat like adults.
We have Skills Coaches who come and speak to us as well as our Line managers and have welfare and early careers staff on site at the college who help us a lot and make us comfortable.
We are given a lot of help with work and we are always ready to take exams when needed and have a lot of support in terms of personal life and work life they also make us very comfortable and offer us help with work when they can.
It gives us a good basic understanding of engineering principles and the company behaviours and as we progress onto HNC and HND etc we learn more about specific areas.
Not that I know much about I do know that departments do have work outings and Christmas staff parties.
Yes
Great company which looks after the staff and pay very well anyone lucky enough to get a job or apprenticeship has a job for life.
Be confident and don't worry it's unnerving at first but then you settle in and the staff are all really friendly and helpful
