  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I manage a Boutique in Leeds. That involves looking after the staff, the boutique (everything that comes with it like finance, supply chain) and customers. I drive the KPIs and motivate team daily. The job has countless responsibilities.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme very much. I also love networking with students from other companies. I started the programme at Asda and now I work for Nespresso. My experience is much more pleasant with Nespresso, which is a great company to work for that cares about personal development.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised but sometimes I feel like certain tutors could support more in terms of feedback before assignment submission.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Nespresso is great. They allow us to have a Uni day every week if we need it but also if we are struggling we can ask for extra time. People from L&D are amazing, especially Charlie, who always makes sure that we meet relevant people and find information.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • MMU is great! Some tutors have been amazing! I always know I can go to if I need support. They made sure my move from Asda to Nespresso was easy. There is a couple of tutors who did not respond to emails and were less supportive resulting in lower grades.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I definitely perform better in my role and I am also a better leader. I leant about different components of leadership and how to adapt this to my job role. I also got to know the things I would never have thought to learn like supply chain.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Nespresso provides many opportunities. We have networking events all the time (internal). There is plenty of communities and teams I can join.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Nespresso to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I previously worked at Asda and I know how hard and unreasonable the job can be. This job allows me to have a work-life balance, Nothing is ever a problem. They work on our wellbeing a lot to make sure we are fine. They do not create a stressful environment. They welcome everybody and make you feel like you are a part of a family.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nespresso?
  • Interviews are well structured and sometimes (like myself) you can have 3 different interviews before you are hired. I'd recommend to work on the interview skills. Be yourself and give as many relevant examples from different backgrounds as you can. Work on your CV and remember to have fun too! Everybody is so nice!
