Training to use a number of different systems and interfaces to add value to BAE Systems products or company processes. Many office based roles with the ability to work as part of a small and very knowledgeable team.
Computer Aided Design (CAD) including FEA, stages of design and Inventor professional. Electronics basics including theory and practical. Portfolio creation and academic writing skills. Business improvement techniques. Safety in the workplace. Responsible time management. Ability to work in many teams.
Incredibly interesting apprenticeship. I have gained a large amount of new skills in the workplace while gaining practical and theory based engineering knowledge. At BAE Systems i feel i can add value and impact many peoples life even while still being an apprentice.
The 5 years of workplace are determined in advance with the flexibility to change placements if so desired. University work is also decided before hand so I always know what I will be doing in the future.
I have a designated coach to help with any questions I may have as well as access to a trained expert in the field i am currently studying/working towards.
Fully supported with expert tutors available at the touch of a button. Time given to work towards the qualification.
Giving me new skills to take into the business. For example extensive researching of material before coming to a well-informed conclusion. Also the opportunity to use CAD to create my own designs.
I myself am a STEM ambassador, this gives me the opportunity to take time out of work to support the learning and development of the next generation of STEM leaders. Their are also many groups are available to join raining from veterans to LGBT+.

A company that looks after their employees. The work can be tough but the rewarding feeling of completing a task surrounded by your team provides job satisfaction.
