I aid on consultancy work which includes report writing, meetings, data work (eg programs like GIS) and site work.
I have developed skills in report writing, digital (eg GIS and excel) and soft skills like confidence and teamwork.
The programme is exciting and engaging, it is great to get experience on project work within your sector. Although, juggling university and work can be stressful.
My programme has 6 month rotations through the different environmental teams. This is good to be able to get lots of experience. As the apprenticeship is new, the university can be unorganised, which involves lots of admin work.
We receive lots of support from our employers, we have two managers to help manage pastoral care, university and workload
We receive two days of study leave per assignment
They do not link very much, but the soft skills we develop are useful.
There are lots of socials, networking and sports teams. For example, I am part of the climbing group.
