Sampling and testing financial statement areas, with a view to check that the financial statements prepared give a true and fair reflection of the clients' accounts.
Lots, I have learnt about accounting and developed my knowledge throughout my work. I have also learnt to work to deadlines and working within varied teams, which greatly develops organisational and client facing soft skills.
I enjoy the day to day of office life, since the department are all young and motivated, and we work well together. Hours can be long, and studying is demanding, but it is very rewarding.
Very well structured. We get a lot of support and time off to study, and our tuition is funded for, and taught very well. Exams always are prioritised over work.
BDO always prioritise studying for individuals over work stress, and everybody here has been through the same process, so they understand the demanding commitments. We also receive a lot of help day to day, since there is a great management structure,
Loads, they really understand what it takes to teach us and have a lot of expertise, and we get lots of face to face time.
We learn lots of things, some are more applicable to audit than others. But all the modules help give us a wider understanding of business, finance and accounting, which ultimately makes us more employable and better in our roles.
There are various organised events, and we have good socials. However, sometimes work time pressures can prevent these from being organised at times when people are most busy.

We get great training and it really helps you to develop quickly. Everybody is very motivated, and you learn a lot, with great support.
Manage your time effectively and make sure you can demonstrate these skills in an interview setting.
