So far, I have refreshed my skills and knowledge in areas such as i.e., Policies and procedures, Health & Safety to mention a couple. Learnings: Learning Styles – I am a visual and auditory learner and some of the tips given are typical of what I do already, with some new ones to consider. An example of this, ‘When solving math problems that involve a sequence of steps, draw a series of boxes, each containing the appropriate piece of information in sequence’. Of course, I will like this tip because I am a visual learner!
I'm enjoying it a lot - its reinforcing past learnings, and as mentioned teaching me new things about myself, and new knowledge that I can share with others. I have also noticed that as I get older, I’m easily distracted and I've taken onboard the suggestion to sit at the front of a session/class/meeting to focus on the presenter/teacher is helpful, and to remove visual and auditory distractions from my learning space. It may sound silly, but I have not considered these things previously.
It was recommended that I ensure I factor time in my diary, weekly for off the job learning, and to stick to it. If for some reason its not working then I must discuss this with my Apprentice coach and we can look at a resolve. This has worked very well for me, so far, I'm sticking to my scehdule.
A lot! TUI has been supper supportive and I have regular catch ups with my Apprenticeship Coach and my Line Manager. My Line Manager sends me links to various webinars, and shares her experiences and knowledge from her career to help me progress mine. I know I have a good network if I need help :-)
ILM have sent many emails and links to various online tools - which is great! I'm still exploring whats available but from what I've seen so far, its very impressive and I think will help me a lot. I like the hub - where I can read and be in contact with other students - this will be very helpful during my studies, I'm sure.
I think that the experience, skills and knowledge that I will get from the course will help me to be better in my role, and will enable me to grow professionally and development my skills. This will enable me to better provide practiced knowledge, well founded advice, and guidelines to help others to thrive and be successful in their roles.
Yes! At TUI we have so many networks to join and social events. here are just a few: Join the Menopause Network Group where we have a 'lounge' where we meet monthly, both face to face & virtually and discuss a whole range of topics relating to the menopause. It also gives us a chance to support those going through these changes from within the core of our business - our colleagues. LGBTQ+, Muslim Network groups, we also have a TUI Cooking social network group - which I'm not part of but I wanted to share some of the other less common network groups we have available, we even have a TUI Gamers Network group! Yes, there's so much to get involved in at TUI.
Yes
Its a great place to work - we care about people, our customers, our colleagues, each other and we demonstrate this in what we do and how we do it i.e. we recognise great work and shout about it, we encourage growth from a fail and to move forward positively by learning what went wrong and why, to avoid it happening again. The benefits are also great - TUI Workwide is just one benefit that colleagues can take advantage of. It allows you to work from anywhere in the world for 30 working days (5 weeks) per year, providing your role allows it i.e. an office based role reliant upon internet connection. Its brilliant and used up my full allowance last year, in Spain!
Be you when applying for a TUI role - we want candidates to shine and let us know what makes you great and how we can help you to thrive in our business. We embrace authenticity, and we harness passion, dedication and a desire to achieve. Joining TUI will open many avenues of success if you want success!
