Pulling together metrics for review packs and then attending meetings to present metrics to senior management. Working with different stakeholders across the business complete assigned tasks.
I have learnt many new skills such as a degree level understanding of project management. I have developed my leadership, confidence, motivation and organisational skills whilst being on my apprenticeship.
I enjoy the majority of the work that I do, however, I have found that I do not thoroughly enjoy project management and have found during my apprenticeship that I would be suited in a different area of the business.
The early careers programme at BAE is well structured with a friendly and supportive team. However, since the beginning of my apprenticeship there has been many changes to my programme and it has started to get a bit confusing and misleading.
BAE offers plenty of support from mental health support to placement support. There is a designated team to support apprentices mental health, along with a set group of apprentices that have built a team to offer support on a more informal basis. BAE also has staff that are assigned to specific year groups to give more focused support.
The tutors at the university offer support throughout each module. There are also module and course leaders that can offer a higher level of support and address any issues or concerns that you may have throughout the duration of the course.
The qualification supports me in my day to day role by giving me the understanding of the theory of the work that I complete in the office. It allows me to understand the processes in more detail and allows me to apply my knowledge onto real life projects.
There are stretch projects, sports teams, social activities and networking events that the apprentices can take part in. Stretch projects allow the apprentice to participate in smaller, community based, projects in and around the local area. This includes mock interviews and litter picking.

BAE offers excellent development opportunities. Alongside providing a degree, apprentices will also gain unique and specialist knowledge in areas that not many other businesses offer. The opportunities in BAE are endless and starting an apprenticeship with them will open the door to them all.
