On a day to day basis i have to attend daily stand up meetings to inform my team leader of the progress i have made each day. Work wise, this includes; creating test plans, producing code, and testing code.
I have learnt many different skills such as how to code, how to do documentation correctly, and improved on my communication skills. Capgemini also send us on regular training courses to improve our skills.
I enjoyed my programme as it was at a steady pace which allowed me to progress effectively. It also offered a good salary, and i recieved alot of opportunities to develop.
I feel very valued at Capgemini as they have invested time and money into me, and proved this even further by sponsoring me to go to university to do a degree in computer science which i am undertaking at Wolverhampton University.
It was well structure because i had an intense 12 week boot camp when i first joined, which i then progressed into the business. I had to do my apprenticeship QA work alongside this. I also had set targets and exams to complete at certain stages of the apprenticeship.
I recieved alot of support from my trainer provider as they were easily contactable via e-mail, and also made arrangements weekly to visit the workplace and check over any work i have completed for them.
My employer supported me by giving me time to meet my training provider to have work checked over, and gave me time to complete my coursework. I also benefitted from the amount of training courses that my employer offered me, which helped support my coursework.
I think that the salary that Capgemini offer is very competitive and is one of the best apprenticeships on offer. It covers my costs easily, and i also get opportunity to progress within the business and earn a higher salary.
They are many opportunities to get involved with things outside of work such as charity's that Capgemini support, and things such as sports and events that are set up.
Yes
I would recommend a friend as Capgemini are a massive company with a huge reputation, and have proved how good their apprenticeship programme's are. It is also a very good apprenticeship salary wise, and there is ample opportunity to progress within the business.
One of the best tips i would advise is to always ask questions. This is because there is alot to take in when joining such a huge business as Capgemini and things can get very confusing very quickly.
