we do work in the workshops each day which involves learning new skills such as fitting, carbon fibre and machining for example. along side this we do assignments and we have college lessons once a week which gives us an understanding of the theory behind engineering to help us in future.
I have learnt lots of new skills that i haven't done before such as carbon fibre which involves laying carbon fibre and laying the bag for example which i hadn't done before. By doing this i learnt a lot of new skills that i can use in future.
I very much enjoy my programme because it is very hands on and can be challenging which keeps me entertained and as well as this we do different things every day which stops it getting repetitive. By doing different things each week we also gain lots of skills which i enjoy learning.
I feel like my programme has a very well thought through to give us enough time to do each unit that we do in enough time. this means that the lessons can be very well structured to give us time to learn the skills and then utilise them in assessments.
I receive a lot of support from my employers and they hire people such as skills coaches who are readily available to help everyone where they need to be helped. This helps us receive all the support we may need to allow us to complete our apprenticeship smoothly and competently.
i do receive all the help that i need, especially from the skills coaches who are always there to help in the workshop when we need it which allows us to complete all of our tasks safely and confidently. This is especially helpful because if this help wasn't here then we could be stressed doing some tasks.
I feel like the level 4 HNC that we receive that is very helpful because it means that we are skilled engineers and will have a good understanding into the theory behind engineering which will allow us to do more complicated tasks in future which means we can play a more influential role in the company.
i do not do any extra curricular activities at work at the moment but i do know that if i wanted to there is opportunities to get involved in them if i wanted to. These extra curricular activities can both be for fun such as football or skill gaining like doing courses.
Yes
i believe that it is a very good company to work for who look after their workers very well and their facilities are to a very high standard and i always feel supported and confident in whatever i do. As well as this it is a very big company with lots of work which leads to job security.
i would say to show your skills and experience and be confident that you are the best person for the job. As well as this you should explain in detail so the interviewers have a lot to judge you on which means that you have a better chance of getting the job.
