I am a Junior Technical Architect, Since September i have been working Client side in London remediating applications and working on change requests. This is a full on role including having one to one communication directly with the client. I work with a small close team and we all re-mediate applications so skills are being learnt everyday. Even though I'm technical being in a fully technical role has given me many chances to learn new skills that will benefit me in the future.
As I mentioned above working in a technical role allows me to learn new skills everyday, due to working on different applications i have learnt way to get around errors that occur and all these skills are applied when remediating other applications and also helping other people in the team
I enjoy the program however it is a lot of work to keep up with having a full time job 4 days of the week and then finding time to still do uni work. however it is a great opportunity and am proud to be apart of it
Being in a small team i feel valued a lot and working close with the client means that i see the difference i am making everyday and this pushes me harder at work
This is the only downfall of the scheme, As i have taken a new course the organisation has let it down and it has been hard to keep to deadlines when they keep changing. Hopefully next year it should be more organised and therefore make the scheme less stressful
Normally we don't need any more extra help when we have been given the work to do however they are always there to contact when something isn't going well or your not happy about something.
I have a close relationship with my people manager and work based mentor which allows me to feel supported and get my view out there when there is a problem
My salary matches the amount of work i do and i believe it is a boost to make you work harder
there are sport events and charity events and other events that are available
Yes
It is a great opportunity to have and being at work is a great feeling because i am benefiting both CGI and the client. Instead of just going to university.
If you work hard then this is a great course for you, if you dont want to just do exams at uni and want to work which is a great experience then apply for CGI
