I make sure food is made and given out as quickly as possible and make sure crew are working to the best possible standard at all time while teaching them on following all procedures and the importance of this. I also work closely with managers to help run a good shift.
i have learnt every station in the building and have also learnt all of our safety checks. i also have learnt how to talk to all different types of people and how to make them feel as welcome as they possibly can feel. I have also learnt new food skills.
I enjoy it to the fullest extent. My mentor is so lovely and has helped me through every step of the way. She is always there if I have any questions and no matter what she always encourages and believe that I could do this when I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to get my Aptem hours up.
It was very well structured. I can easily find my way around and also it has an area where I can see all my progress which is easy to get to. All of the learning is separated into months so I know where I should be at all times in this course.
I receive quite a lot of support from my employer. He gives me a lot of time off the floor to be able to get my work completed and also to learn new things with different managers. I also have meetings with him sometimes to help with my business idea costings.
I have got a lot of support and she has been with me every step of the way. On our calls she asks if I need any help with anything and also has given me practice tests to complete so I know what to expect when my real tests come around.
I feel like it has helped me realise how important my role actually is and also it has help me become a better trainer as I know a lot more things now and know how to make everyone feel more welcome in the workplace. it is a really good qualification.
There are not a lot of social activities during office hours, but we all meet up and go to football sometimes after work or for a meal so we can get to know each other even more.
Yes
It is a very good company to work for and has a really good apprenticeship scheme. They look after you and make sure you have no problems. While you are there, you meet so many great people and will make friends forever. It has a very good starting pay as well for the younger people.
Just enjoy it and don’t get too stressed out. It may get a little busy but at the end of the day it is just making burgers and chips, so don’t over stress otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy it as much as you should do.
