Every day is different with Aldi! Some days you’re focusing on arranging the stock around the shop floor! While helping customers! Other days you’re at the tills assisting customers with their shopping! As a manager apprentice you’ll also have responsibilities such as cash handling and ordering stock.
Time management is one of the most important skills when working delivery, you are expected to complete tasks quickly as well as efficiently! You’ll also need to have great communication when talking to both staff and customers! Working at Aldi has improved my time management and allowed me to feel more comfortable talking to strangers!
There are a lot of challenges working as an apprentice! You do the same job as everyone else, if not more while being paid significantly less! However thinking of the long run it’ll be worth it! I personally have really enjoyed the programme and that’s mainly down to working with such a supportive team!
I meet with my training coach once a month to go over what I have learnt, lifetime training also expect you to complete module’s online to help you understand the company even further, such as what their mission statement is! What do Aldi try and accomplish and so forth!
I personally receive a lot of support from management, they are thorough with all the different trainings offered, and they try getting involved with my lifetime training side too! As an apprentice you are going to make mistakes, my employer will always show me what I’ve done wrong and what I need to do to fix it/improve
Lifetime training assign a training coach who will work closely with you to achieve your qualifications! Whenever I have had trouble with the work set online I know I can always message my coach and ask for help! Wether that’s over the phone or meeting in store she’ll be there.
As I said previously lifetime training teach you everything there is to know about what happens inside Aldi rather than just a shop, knowing what part I play in the organisation has allowed me to progress and perform better, wether that’s on the shop floor or the management side
Yes Aldi offer a range of different extra-curricular activities! Each year we play football against different stores in the region! It’s great to meet different members of team Aldi! Aldi also offers a lot of fund raising for teenage cancer trust! Including fundraising and completing large events like marathons!
Yes
Aldi has so much to offer! Wether you want to work in store close to customers! In management running the store! Or even work at the different distribution centres supplying stock to over 100 stores each! There are a lot of different roles available and skills to learn with Aldi!
Aldi offer a four week rota, giving you plenty of opportunities to have a healthy work to life balance, you’ll be expected to work hard, quickly and effectively with plenty of opportunities to progress! When applying, try understanding why their stores are smaller compared to the likes of tesco, but still make such a large profit!
